Is it possible to get shorter translations? Also... does hovering over
the text show the entire string? Would it be better if I made it do
that?

Maybe consider using line-breakage and shorten the translated text to
the length of the English text? German translators tend to narrate,
extensively describe and tell tales when it comes to labeling buttons,
lists etc. instead of orienting on the length of the English text and
use precise but

Could you take a look at this, please? I suspect we can match the
behavior of the GTK+ frontend and just make the text smaller, but I'll
leave that decision to you.
