Public bug reported: Binary package hint: phonon
When a sound is played by a KDE application (KDE system notifications included) before another sound finishes playing, the second one almost always fails. It may simply not be played, or it can produce random noises, or it can interrupt the sound that was playing before. Pulseaudio is installed and is set as the preferred device for all sound sources in Systemsettings and xine backend is being used. The sound card is a Turtlebeach Santa Cruz (Sound Fusion CS46xx). This did not happen in Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2.x. marc...@home-01:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Oct 31 02:48:07 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: phonon-backend-xine 4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: phonon Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 XsessionErrors: (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:16831): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed ** Affects: phonon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Sound fails in KDE 4.3.2 + pulseaudio when a sound is played before another finishes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
