Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-applet
On indicator applet, I see Empathy and Evolution by default. Apps like Pidgin and Gwibber appear on the applet, but that occurs only if they are opened by the user. I was looking for a way to put those applications on the applet by default and remove Empathy. However, it's either it is hard to find (which is a usability issue) or the feature just doesn't exist. Whichever, I believe, it is a bug. I would suggest having a preference dialog that can be run through the right click menu of the applet's notification area icon.
