Hi folks. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but does anyone
know if this issue is likely to get resolved by the Ubuntu team any time
soon? Having to carry around a set of headphones just to get sound

I've finally upgraded to 10.4, but the problems remain. I am wondering
whether on hindsight I should have used a live CD to upgrade, but it was
