I reproduced the bug. I was able to save a dmesg, then in the same
session reproduce the bug, then reinitialize the screen normally again
and save another dmesg output. The two dmesg outputs are identical,
there were no additional lines appended.

Hi Imre,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

Hello, the problem is still present, but now I cannot tell if it is a
software problem. The bug also can happen right after switching on the
machine, so before grub (MBR) gets control. So, what's your opinion?

Are you testing this on the latest Lucid build? My first impression is
that this is something to do with the display driver. Would you mind testing
this against a LiveCD of the latest build available at the link I mentioned
above?

Bugs,
It can not only happen when reinitializing the screen after a power
saving mode, but also when initializing the screen during the boot
process. The same bug was also present in Jaunty, but it got more
annoying in Karmic. I hope you can say something. Thank you in advance.
