Daniel's workaround worked, but the bottom Gnome-panel would overlap with the bottom portion of the window. Another possible workaround would be to move either the top or the bottom panel to the different screen. The window would now maximize just fine on either monitor. Having both panels on the

I can confirm that this only happens on some of the screens in a multiple screen setup. I have three screens, across two graphics cards, using Xinerama and with the middle screen as the primary (0 numbered) x-screen. This bug appears on the primary screen but not the left or right screens. All
