We experience severe PPTP performance degradation with an lucid 64 bit server. (upgraded/new install of an debian-5.0 installation) The degradation is 50-70% in throughput and is very unstable. After testing (on also an 32 platform), my conclusion is that the performance degradation is not

This problem still persist in 10.10. Is only solution for now to get appropriate performance is to use accel-pptp. Now I have ~95Mbit pptp over pppoe, and ~65Mbit cifs over pptp over pppoe on E8400 under maverick x64. It will be great if someone makes accel-pptp package with dkms support. --
