Hi guys i tried installing ubuntu 8.10 final release on fujitsu s6520,
system hangs in few minutes after selecting install ubuntu from the
menu. tried several times booting from both cd and usb drive still the
same response. any suggestions or any of you guys manage to install?
please let me know.

Same with me. Cannot install through live. Installation just hangs.
Installed with alternate, always hangs while installing. The last thing i saw
was while it was installing xserver.

Hi all!
I found a solution to this issue.
To install it successfully, you will need the alternate cd and choose
expert install mode.
When you see the screen containing the chipsets, remove all but the
generic ones(VIA). Thats the last three items on the list.

installed it via VMWare and this works fantastic, but I want to use it
