Yos, Yes, please uninstall NetworkManager as Ubuntu One is finding
NetworkManager and NetworkManager is telling the client that there is no
connection. Thank you, Joshua

Joshua,
I followed the step given above and NetworkManager has been completely
removed. However, the same problem persists. I'll try rebooting and
let you know if that works.

Hi Yos,
Hmmm... OK. Can you provide the following:
1) Attach ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log
2) Attach ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/oauth-login.log
3) Quit the Ubuntu One client and start from a terminal session and report any
output (Applications-Accessories-Terminal):
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

Hi Yos,
Thank you for all the logs and info! If you run this command again from
a terminal session (all on one line), can you tell me what you get back?
wget -q http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34282008/nm-checker chmod 755
nm-checker ./nm-checker
Thank you,

Yos,
Do you get any errors when trying to install the beta PPA? You will have
to replace karmic with lucid in the repo name.
Thank you,

I carefully followed all of the steps that you gave me, including switching
karmic to lucid in the repo; the installation went smoothly
without any errors. However, I am still having the same issue that I stated
above.

Hi Yos,
Can you run the following command in a terminal session and report back
the output in a comment here?
wget -q http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34282008/nm-checker chmod 755
nm-checker ./nm-checker
This downloads a small python script (that collects information about

Hi Joshua,
Now this seems strange to me: when I paste that command in terminal, it
doesn't even wait for me to hit enter. This is the output that I get:
y...@yos-laptop:~$ wget -q http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34282008/nm-checker
chmod 755
chmod: missing operand after `755'
Try `chmod --help'
Hi Yos,
You need to make sure the command is entered all on one line. It looks
like it's breaking up after 755 there.
Thank you,
Joshua

Cannot connect with the ubuntu one client
Hello Joshua,
I followed all of the steps that were given however, this did not work
for me. A possible reason for this could be because I am now on
Lucid...maybe I should have replaced Karmic main with Lucid main ;)
Although, the differences between Karmic and Lucid are still relatively
small

Hi Yos,
I'm sorry Ubuntu One still isn't working properly for you. Are you using
NetworkManager to connect to the Internet/network? Also, can you try
quitting the Ubuntu One client, then run the following command from a
terminal session and report what, if anything, is output there?
Hi Joshua,
No, I am not using NetworkManager to connect to the internet. I am
using a broadband dongle that I could not configure with the network
manager: I am using kppp to connect to the internet and yes, network
manager reports that there is 'no network connection'. I'm trying to
figure out
