Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dpkg
After clean install of Karmic and running apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, the system is no longer usable. The upgrade ended up with error message <package name>: relocation error: /lib/libglib-2.0.so.0: symbol __alert_mst, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference This broke my whole system - the Xserver is not working after reboot, everytime I try to run apt-get upgrade now I receive an error from dpkg with request to run dokg --configure -a which ends up with the same error message. I re-installed twice with the same results - before upgrade the system works, I can install packages and so on, after upgrade the system is no longer usable.
