Update: I started getting some internal compiler errors when compiling
software, this prompted me to check out the RAM and sure enough, Memtest
reported plenty of errors during the first minutes. I think it's safe to
say this issue is related to faulty RAM instead of an actual bug in
ext4.

Note that I'm aware of similar bugs like #453579, but this corruption
happens with smaller files too.
