Thank you for your work. I'm not sure I understand though - is this a
bug in libpcap or the project you were building?
If it isn't in libpcap, please mark this bug as invalid.
If it is in libpcap, could you please check to see if this bug still
exists in the development version of Ubuntu?

I found out what's wrong. The 4th parameter of pcap_open_live() which
represents the readout delay must not be -1 anymore (which AFAIK means
ignore). Only values equal or greater zero are allowed, otherwise
libpcap-dev consumes 100% of the CPU or crashes.
