Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10
Hi, I am using ALSA as default for a long time without problems, but this happened the first time when I upgraded to Karmic. When I play mp3 [i've tryed mplayer and xmms] , I get randomly small lags, but not often - cca 1x per minute? or sometimes 1x per more minutes ... When I play some film in mplayer, after maybe 10 or more minutes the video freezes and sound gets into a loop, which makes noisy sound :-) . When I press "q", it takes a few seconds and then mplayer exits. (I will try it again sometime to get more info about prospective error messages) When I play some film in VLC, it does the same, except video continues without a sound ... when I turn it off I see in the console message like: "ALSA: broken pipe" I also tried to delete my ~/.asoundrc but mp3 is still lagging sometimes .. (haven't tried films yet after deletion of this file) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [karmic] ALSA random lags https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/490743 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
