This effects doesn't exist if you minimize aMule by double click on icon
in Notification Area. Happens only with minimizing by clicking on
minimize icon in window title bar.
Additionally if option minimize to notification area in aMule is
selected then after application minimized, aMule bar in

It seems something old. Can you still reproduce this bugs with a series
of steps? I have not be able to in lucid.
Anyway, it seems more of a gnome-panel problem than an amule one.

I can confim this bug in 9.10 gnome.
See attached screenshot.
Steps:
1. Enable minimize to tray
2. minimize
3. The panel tab remains until the next clock
4. a few lines remain on the bottom of the screen untill some other window
overwrites it
The amule program remains responsive.
This did not
In Gnome it was not responsive. In KDE (I went back to it in the
meanwhile) minimize to tray works correctly when double clicking on the
tray icon. When clicking on the minimize button, the program remains on
the panel, but responsive.

panel? This seems more of a panel or xorg bug.
