Still, the problem with the reversed MAC exists in Dapper (the halt
process inverts the MAC, using an Nforce4 mobo). I haven't test it with
Feisty. In a couple of more hours i will test it.

On my dualboot (XP, ubuntu) system i am unable to WakeonLAN when the OS
is halted in ubuntu. When the shutdown occurs in XP the WOL function
works perfectly. The only solution i have found for this is that when i
shutdown the system through Ubuntu i have to send the magic packet with
the reversed M
