Wow. Really WOW! Thanks so much! After changing this, and aside from a
few minor bugs (e.g. when applying the crop effect, it sometimes likes
to crash), Kdenlive is behaving fine and I can actually use it
productively. I am running Kubuntu 9.10 and Kdenlive 0.7.5

Got it working. Don't know if it's a machine-specific fix or not, but
here's what I did...
Go to Settings Configure Kdenlive..., then select Playback on the
left. Next to Audio driver:, select ALSA, and next to Audio device:,
select whatever option you can (mine has ALC272 Analog, but I'm
I have the exact same issue, except I am running it on a 2.26GHz + 4GB
RAM machine (Kubuntu 9.10). The only thing I can think it to be is the
