Public bug reported:

Hi,

with current karmic some of my scripts fail that use dmsetup and were
working correctly under jaunty.

Several dmsetup commands fail with

device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument

looks as if dmsetup is not compatible with the current kernel.

e.g.

dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/testdisk count=1000

# dmlosetup loopx /tmp/testdisk
device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument
Command failed

(where dmlosetup is a symlink to dmsetup, which is btw. missing in the
dmsetup package)

# dmsetup create xxxtest --table '0 1000 loop /tmp/testdisk 0'
device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument
Command failed
