Hm, actually on second thought, installing from software center installs
the "Mythtv" package which Should have pulled in a MySQL server via pre-
depends.
$ apt-cache depends mythtv
mythtv
Depends: mythtv-database
Depends: mythtv-frontend
Depends: mythtv-backend
|Depends: ntp
|Depends:
I don't think installing through software center will actually install
the backend-master role that would pull in a MySQL server (which appears
to be the problem here). You should be able to fix it by installing
mythtv-backend-master and/or mysql-server-5.1
