Sorry for my copy/paste fail. The command is:
apport-collect -p alsa-base 504020.
Please run that command to submit more information after installing the
packages from the Ubuntu Audio Dev team PPA.

1. Please ensure all linux-backports-modules-alsa- packages are not installed
(including linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic that I asked you to
try previously).
2. Install the crack of the day alsa-driver from
https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ppa

Thank you for looking into my bug! I have installed the backports and
checked the alsa-base.conf for alsa model quirks. There were no quirks.
The backports have not solved the problem either.
