Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx
I am running dapper on a Dell Latitude D610, using a Radeon Mobility M300 (as reported by lspci). At work I have an external monitor attached through a port replicator using the digital interface. I have used ati-config to set-up xorg to use a single screen mode (producing the following lines in), Section "Device" Identifier "aticonfig-Device[0]" Driver "fglrx" Option "VideoOverlay" "on" Option "OpenGLOverlay" "off" Option "DesktopSetup" "single" EndSection At x startup both the laptop screen and the external screen are enabled, but the external one looks scrambled. Running fireglcontrolpanel shows that the device is in a dual screen, clone mode. Changing to single mode in fireglcontrolpanel and restarting x doing sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart gets the system working in the desired mode, however the problem reapears after a system reboot. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- fglrx does not start in single screen mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/50428 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
