gvim not running from the terminal is not an issue here (it actually works fine with me) but rather gvim not getting reflected in Applications - Accessories when you have been told so. The shortcut is disabled and had to use Alacarte to turn it on and have it reflected in the right place. **

ubiquity is the live CD installer, not add/remove applications or any other general-purpose repository for package installation problems. I guess this belongs to either gnome-app-install or vim. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: ubiquity = gnome-app-install -- gvim not good
