Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

I have an ASUS M51A laptop, I installed (not upgraded) Ubuntu 9.10 with
the grub2 package. When I start my computer the grub screen appeares, I
can move with the arrowkeys, etc. But when I select Ubuntu, the screen
freezes for about 10 sec, I can't move with the arrows, or anything,
after 10 sec it begins to load Ubuntu. I installed the grub legacy
package instead of grub2, with legacy everything works fine. I have a
desktop computer too, which is working perfectly with grub2.

So by installing grub legacy I have found myself a solution for this
problem, but the update manager always lists grub2 with the updates, and
I always have to uncheck it. Is there a way I can tell the update
manager not to ask If I would like to install grub2?

Thank you!
