BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (null), breaks wireless
very similar issue on an acer extensa 5635ZG. same nic.
the kernel is 2.6.31-19
very similar oops
after the oops the machine remains perfectly usable except for wireless
(nm-applet keeps asking for wpa passphrase but fails to connect, rmmod
ath9k fails)
tried linux-backports-modules-karmic and
sorry, I must correct: using linux-backports-modules-karmic the issue
seems resolved, but I didn't have a chance to test it for an extended
period of time (not my laptop)

Hi Steve,
Can you try installing linux-backports-modules-karmic first and let us
know if this issue remains? It contains an updated compat-wireless
stack. Thanks.

BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer
Unfortunately I already upgraded the machine in question to Lucid, so I
can't test the Karmic backports package. However, I assume that package
was backported from the version in Lucid, and the machine has had no
problems with wireless in Lucid.

BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer
Hi Steve,
Can you confirm your Lucid kernel version and that you have this issue
fixed there?
Thanks in advance
