Thank you for your bug report but that's not a gnome-applets issue, the
applet is there to let you use change the current value, it doesn't do
any tracking and doesn't force the value later on if something else do
changes

not sure, there is already several bugs which have been opened about
that, either linux should be doing it or some sort of service should be
added to do that I guess, in any case it's not a desktop issue...
