Bryce, with Lucid updated to 17 March, cursor was visible. Yesterday
had installed the latest flashplugin that is on Synaptic, 10.0.45.2 and

then it went to login screen. Logged in O.K. and did ubuntu-bug
Hrm, well that sucks that a cosmetic issue is replaced by a crash! But
since this bug was about the invisible cursor and it seems gone with
-16, we should close this bug report and consider it fixed.
I'd love it if you could get a bug filed on the crash report. See if
you can reproduce it on -16
Oh, the 2.6.32-16 crashes are on IBM Thinkpad T40 with ati Radeon

I'm running Lucid in Virtualbox (PUEL) and the same thing happens when I
install the guest additions, but I have an Nvidia card (9400) in the
host system. Should I open a new bug report or add further details to
this one? Installing the kernel from your PPA and adding guest additions
again does not

Thanks for reporting this bug to help making the -ati graphics driver
better. We hear from upstream that a number of bugs (possibly including
this one) have been fixed in the newer DRM code from the 2.6.33 kernel.
I don't know if your bug is one of the ones fi

The cursor exists until the short "screen blank" which happens after

Eero,
you're right - false alarm, not fixed, mine disappeared again, ATI
Radeon Mobility 7500 graphics on IBM Thinkpad T40 notebook.
I have keyboard setup to locate cursor on pressing Ctrl, then navigate
to Preferences, Display, Detect Monitors Apply, Keep, Close. On every
boot.

I have a similar problem since upgrading Lucid Alpha 2 to 2.6.32-12.
My system boots to a different virtual terminal which does display the
cursor, I then use CTRL+ALT+F7 to show the login screen. But then my
system just freezes.
My system has also worked fine on all prior Ubuntu versions, and i
