I have stopped giving extensions to flash files I
save. I just leave the extension off and Linux knows
how to handle it.

Thanks for your bug. Does running xine file.swf from the command line
works? Could you give a link to download a such example or attach one
small one to the bug page?

That works, and also if I remove the file extension,
which is what I've done. I've used PrefixSuffix to
remove the file extension from all my *.swf files and
now Nautilus treats them fine. I could have put the
extension .flv on them, but I didn't know if that
would be changed in the future either,
