What happened the next time you loaded Gramps? Please also try this:
load Gramps, at the Family Manager screen, break the lock. Close Gramps
again. Start Gramps again, now the lock should be gone, can you open
your database now?
Whatever happens run 'Tools > Database Repair > Check and Repair
