After updating yesterday, everything is working for me.
Note that I do use the mactel-support ppa, it may have been an update
from here that fixed it.

For me (MacBook Pro 5.4, also using mactel ppa), it has been working for
a few weeks. But it's hard to be sure because there were always periods
where it was working, and then it failed again (compare comment #4).

I am getting these errors on a MacBookPro5-3 using Lucid. pm-suspend
still works so it's not a ig deal for me, but gnome-power-manager does
not function:
