Please sync the latest 0.8.2-1 from Debian. The new dependency
introduced here is not needed and it should build fine now, so it is Ok
to overwrite all ubuntu changes and sync from debian. I have not tested
it though.

the build for amd64 was successful, while those for ia64 and sparc are
pending.

The new dependency is wrong and should not be needed when the version of
digikam and libkipi is used which are mentioned by Jonathan Riddel.

Hmm, I was probably stupid, but I just did an upload of 0.8.2-2ubuntu1
putting back in the dh_iconcache change; at the time, I also experienced
an FTBFS due to a missing direct dependency to libgamin-dev (though I
thought libfam-dev would have been enough, except that it too was
unavailable at the
The ftbfs should not have occurred with the packages mentioned by
Jonathan Riddell. Can you check if you had those installed? (the correct
digikam package for amd64 is not yet available)
