Whenever I get this bug, the In Progress section also doesn't appear.
I don't know whether that's a symptom of the same bug, or a different
bug.

I got the same error when just after I entered the admin password to
start installing. I'm not sure if it matters but I had Synaptic open at
that time and I couldn't switch to close it first

The value for the channel column is missing. I'm not sure what value
should be used as the channel name, but None or an empty string would at
least fix the ValueError.
