I can't use my external monitor at full resolution (1920x1080) the
maximal available resolution is 800x600 :-S.

old-school way - add/update monitor and screen sections in your xorg.conf based
on the mode info in your xorg.log, similar to comment 17 in the fdo bug at

better. We hear from upstream that a number of bugs (possibly including
this one) have been fixed in the newer DRM code from the 2.6.33 kernel.

Not solved my problem, but the result is a bit better,
now i can't see the OUT OF RANGE message on my external screen while my
ubuntu booting,
but now i can set only 1024x768 as maximum resolution
And seems the frequency detection a bit

Today i found a workaround to get my external monitor working.
When I plug-in my monitor only after bootup (when my Gnome session is active),
the Display Preferences can properly recognize my monitor,
and i can use it at full resolution (1920x1080). :-D
Please let me know if You need any logs...

An another observation:
Without xorg.conf and ~/.config/monitors.xml my monitor saying:
DSUB
OUT OF RANGE
53.5kHz / 85 Hz
(i haven't set any resolution...etc)
PS.: this message started to appear on my external monitor when the
system asked for my encrypted root partition password... (at boot
