While this has now been fixed (thanks!), now it is the list of keyboard
layouts that does not get updated when switching trough a keyboard
shortcut. I've filed bug 621633 for that.

@Martin, I have a new patch on the way, which looks a lot better from my
point of view, and it will hook up to external signals and therefore
should work via the keyboard shortcuts. I'll upload this package to my
ppa when I've finished building it.
