The problem here is the buttons behave differently if the visual effects
is On[compiz] or Off [metacity].

Thanks for the screenshot , found where the problem was.
The bug arises when the user has Visual Effects set to none or is using only
metacity as the window manager, instead of compiz
To fix this :
1: we need 2 new button pixmaps for the inactive windows
[button_close_prelight_unfocused.png,
Clicking on the close button, even in an unfocused window, will close
the window. It is therefor not inactive, really.

@kwwii , Thats correct , but the problem here is that the windows with 3
buttons behave differently[red becomes grey] from windows with only the
close button[always stays red].

I'm unable to reproduce this problem or This problem seems fixed in the
latest version of the theme.
Also your screenshot shows the Appearance window having only one button
, which is not the default. The appearance window has 3 , or the theme
was modified

My system is fully updated, and I'm still seeing this phenomenon,
including the single-button Appearance dialog. I'm attaching a new
screen shot, this time with three windows each having a red Close
button.
