The Problem still exists in kUbuntu 13.04!
Try to install with Swiss-German Keyboard (i.e. choose it at boot
screen) and there's a ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 141
after setting the timezone; later (after ignore) the installation
completely fails.
And yes, I just correctly downloaded
[Expired for ubiquity (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]

Jari,
Can you please attach your debug log from the install attempt? If you
have to run the install again to get it, can you do so in debug mode
(`ubiquity -d` from a terminal window) and run `apport-collect 539463`
when it crashes. That will give us a much more detailed log.

Sorry I am unable to give the debug log, because I don have that disk
image of Kubuntu 10.04 daily live 2010-03-16 left.
So I tested the beta1 image:
kubuntu-10.04-beta1-desktop-i386.iso18-Mar-2010 02:06 679M
and the installer (ubiquity) worked fine, without errors, with finnish
