Public bug reported:

The system fails to properly boot when used with the d-link DWL-AG530 pci
wireless adapter.
I have gotten it to work and update with the cisco 430 pcmcia adapter, but
function is unreliable at best and while it allows to update software, i am not
able to either surf the web or use gaim chat client.

However, when i placed my DWL-AG530 back in it's place pci, dapper will
nolonger boot.
It will just sit there for extended sets of time, the hardware detection will
fail and it will attempt to set up networking and freeze.

In future releses it would be nice to set up the network "after" the
machine is in gnome, otherwise the machine will not function.

My hardware is as follows.

Intel pentium 4c 2.8, northwood
gigabyte 81pe1000 rev 2
1 gig (2x512) kingston value ram
Ati radeon 9800pro 128 agp
intel based 10/100 lan
Ac'97 onboard sound
lucent usb/firewire pci adapter
ricoh r5c520 pcmcia adapter
cisco 430 pcmcia wireless
D-link DWL AG530 super g wireless
samsung cd-rw
lite-on generic DVD drive
Western digital 120gb IDE
western digital 80gb SCI-USB 2.0

I hope to know of a quick fix, because i am enjoying ubuntu when i can
get it to function, but it's been very tempermental with my hardware
from hoary on up, even though my hardware is far from exotic.

I hope someone somewhere has an idea as to why this is happening.
Best of luck.
