Public bug reported: Apport appeared after booting and starting Update Manager (may be unrelated) on a docked IBM ThinkPad x41 with an external monitor attached. I had previously restored GRUB from 10.04 Lucid Beta 1, since installing Lenovo Rescue and Recovery had altered my mbr.
