So, is this - as it turns out - a) a bug in parted b) a bug elsewhere c) an RFE elsewhere d) not a bug at all I am almost inclined to say d) but then on the other hand software should behave well even in adverse conditions so it might be c) -- Parted fails to correctly read partition table

I booted using the Edgy Knot 1 CD and had the same problem. However I looked at the partition list and saw what was wrong: There is a zero length partition (partition 7) that overlaps with another partition (number 6). I deleted partition 7 and it solved the problem. It looks like parted needs
