You won't be told you're the only one, Eemil.
Apparently exactly the same symptoms here.
But I did not notice that the button was enabled.
I rebooted a 68 days running system and lost the competition ;-)
So,
1) I should learn to read ;-)
2) These bug reports should have a Bug Solution/Workaround
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

write to disc dialog shows No disc
Now it seems to work. The only problem is that the blank cd-r disc shows
7,2 MB of free space (which should be 700 MB)

You received this
cdrom drive info from dmesg:
[1.796291] scsi 4:0:0:0: CD-ROMHL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A102
PQ: 0 ANSI: 5

tray
[1.808943] Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20
[1.809055] sr 4:0:0:0: Attached
Additionally, after a successful burn, I get:
Please eject the disc from HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B manually.
The disc could not be ejected though it needs to be removed for the current
operation to continue.
