Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lvm2
My lucid laptop with root-on-lvm-on-luks has recently started oopsing at boot, with VFS: Cannot open root device "mapper/lithe_ssd_root" or unknown- block(0,0) (see screenshot). This was working correctly in 2.6.32-17; I'm not totally sure if the difference is in the kernel or in other things that are built into the initramfs. I think Ubuntu used to drop into an initramfs shell in this case but that's not happening anymore, so it's hard to make any progress other than by booting an old kernel or a recovery disk.
