My C-Media USB Headphone works using kernel 2.6.32-22-generic. I had
this problem on 2.6.32-23-generic and 2.6.32-24-generic. I use Ubuntu
Lucid (64-bit) with all updates.
When I plug in my headphone and boot into 2.6.32-23-generic or
2.6.32-24-generic, my kernel says something like: BUG: soft
Georg,
this sounds like a different problem in your case. Could you open a new
bug with ubuntu-bug linux? Also add whether this happens too, if you
plug in the headset later. If you can trigger the issue by plugging in
later, you might gather some more information by following the following

recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

JFO: I did some additional testing and it indeed works now! It's listed
