Public bug reported: I have a Vostro 1720 notebook running Kubuntu 10.04 with a Broadcom 4322 wireless adapter. It's using the Broadcom STA driver. I haven't had any issues in the past with my setup with 9.04 (Jaunty) or 9.10 (Karmac), but but with the recent switch to the release of 10.04 (Lucid) my wireless has pretty much quit working (so the ugly blue network wire is now a necessity). I've managed to get it to connect twice for short periods of time. I'm not sure if the problem is with NetworkManager or wpa_supplicant, but Network manager keeps asking me for the passphrase when I'm connecting to my access point. I also see a ton of time out error's in my syslog. One other user reported having the same problems in the Ubuntu forums here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9094575. He's using an Intel based wireless adapter and Kubuntu 10.04.
