When I paste HTML text (no so long, around 50 lines x 20 characters when in
HMTL), then gaim/pidgin freezes for about 7-8 seconds (amd64 dualcore)

I just tried to reproduce this again given all of the recent Edgy

Ya know, I tried it without Orca *running*, but I hadn't actually tried
disabling the accessibility feature. The problem does NOT occur when
the accessibility feature is not enabled.

do you still have the issue with the edgy gaim 2.0beta3.1 package? it
has a workaround for the dbus locking issue too

Er, well Gaim 2.0.0 beta 3.1 is basically just 2.0.0 beta 3 + some
critical patches. If you were previously using something from a recent
SVN then it might still be a good idea to verify that the bug is fixed
in a build of SVN from the past day or two.

What version of Gaim is in Edgy? If it's SVN from the past week or two
then this bug has probably been fixed. It looks like it's related to
when we enabled threads to work around some problems when using d-bus
and also the newer, thread-using version of gnome-vfs. But we have
removed the thread

I couldn't get a backtrace from within X; had to launch a virtual
console. Not sure if it will help, but here it is all the same. :)
