It appears that this problem is affecting Rhythmbox, so I will mark it

Could we have some information about your Rhythmbox configuration?
Do you have a large collection of music files?
What plugins are you using?
Also, please run Rhythmbox from the terminal and post any output that
Tomorrow I will make what you ask, now is a little late for it. But I
can say there is a huge music collection on an ntfs drive (83G)

List the processes in the tab and sort by memory lowest to highest. This
will provide information about what specific program is using the most
memory. We can address the bug report from there.
