Buddy the solution is so simple u just have to :
1-Right-Click on the application and chose Properties
2-Go to Permissions Tap and chuck Allow executing file as program
3-Close the window and run the program and chose run when promoted
And here you go you will be able to use it
I've Tested it
Got this error again today. The file I'm editing has 100% been created
with gedit, so its surprising that I can edit, save, and then not be
able to open the file.

My solution to the problem:
iconv -f 'UTF-8' -t 'ASCII//IGNORE' -o output-file-name --verbose
input-file-name
The -t 'ASCII//IGNORE' option insures that the offensive characters will
be discarded from the output, and the --verbose option tells you where
they were in the file.
