The segfault pointed to the videodriver so I tried the inteldriver from this
ppa:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/xorg-edgers/ppa/ubuntu lucid main.
This action stops blender from crashing, the fact remains that the
default intel driver (package: xserver-xorg-video-intel) doesn't work
well with bl
