Sorry, little mistake there: have kernel 2.6.31.20 working. Anything
above doesn't. Have a laptop with 1,5 Ghz Celeron and 640 Mb memory.

Same problem here. After upgrading from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx I
ended up with two kernels in my boot loader:
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-22-generic
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, kernel 2.6.31-19-generic
The kernel 2.6.32-22-generic does not boot. I see a black screen after I
select it and the
