Thanks for your help. I realised that the setup I was trying for
wouldn't actually be possible since the root was in the extended
partition and I didn't have a separate /boot, and AFAIK that isn't
doable on fakeraid. I've got another Linux install on the machine
already and was trying to stay
I have recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 to my raid drives, during the last page
of the installer (page 8) it is necessary to set the advanced options to tell
it to install grub to your /dev/mapper device. When I did this at that stage it
installed perfectly.
