I have the same problem in Hardy with my HP Pavillion dv 9500. Which I
believe has the same sound card as mentioned above.

I am also suffering this problem (both no microphone and low speaker
volume compared to Windows). A slightly more complete lspci dump

Patches have already been sent but have not been applied yet. Because of
the proximity of Edgy's release, it's likely they'll have to be applied

I've got the same problem with IBM Thinkpad T60. I wonder if Bug #42600
is also related to this bug.

can CONFIRM that microphone input does not work for me (despite volumes
being set) and that volume is much lower than windows, just as the
