HP Officejet 5610 printout mode options ignored

With Lucid close to end-of-life, this bug is now ancient history and
should probably be retired. I've not had this problem on Ubuntu 12.04.

Update:
I can add epdfview, LyX and Texmaker to the list of programs that will print
full black correctly. All these programs have their own version of the print
dialogue.
