I should mention that I'm no longer getting any error messages, and the
rsync is more or less successful, but permissions, owner and group
settings are not transferred; I can see that by repeating the same
invocation with --itemize-changes:
.f...pog... etc/wpa_supplicant/functions.sh
.f...pog...
Thanks for the followup. Yes, some things like owner/group/permissions
are flattened when transferring files and directories from one
filesystem to another.
